14 German made cars

As advised by the government on ways to cut cost and minimize the government expenditures. But in the recent topic which we have read about, the State of Terengganu has purchased 14 units of Germany made car which is amounting to an amount of RM3.43 million ringgit. The reason given for this extravagant expenditure was because of the current vehicles purchased from a local manufacturer was too expensive to maintain.

The MB has also submitted papers showing proof that in the long run, the German brand car will save more versus the Malaysian made car. The local producer has reported otherwise on the proof submitted by the State of Terengganu.

In the latest report on this issue (http://malaysiakini.com/news/86820 -- Jul 27,08), the DPM has advised MB not to “memperbesar-besarkan” this issue because the purchase has already been made.

From the perspective of us, tax payers; I would see this as a misused of “rakyat” money. Others out there may have their own views, please do share you point of view with respect to this particular issue. Is it a government conspiracy to bring the Malaysian car producer down? Is it an obvious case of corruption?
