Ketuanan Melayu

This topic or issue has been discussed in closed doors for the pass decade. Today it has been an open discussion by the rakyat for the benefit of the rakyat. Even though some rakyat are using this as a weapon to encourage racial tensions, we as a rakyat of Malaysia must be smart to deduce what is the positive message and what is the negative message. We are living in the 21st century where human has gone to the moon and back. We even have cars that run on "air" instead of biodiesel or fossil fuel. We have even built building reaching the heights of over 160 floors. Why are we still discussing "RACE" as an issue?

The recent interviews Riz Khan did, was very insightful of one person's perception towards this topic. I am a Malaysian Chinese and my roots are Malaysian Chinese because my parents are both born in Malaysia. But unfortunately there are others who claim other race ethnicity just to blend into a race or culture. Your blood still belongs to that ethnicity whether you like it or not. For example, a Malaysian Chinese converts from a Buddhist to a Christian, that doesn’t mean he would automatically be another race?

We Malaysian Chinese have worked very hard until where we are today. We are the minority of the country who are dependent on no one but our own selves. We strive to be the best and that is where we are today. We work long hours and accept loads of pressure, to make a single dime to bring home to our family. If the message across that the minorities have to serve the majority, that message is wrong. The Malaysian government has developed NEP to help the majority race. But where has that gone over the years. Today, you see more Majority race driving luxurious cars than the minorities. Is that a fair inception made by comparison why Ketuanan Melayu must stand? The government should be fair of all races, especially to the minorities. Is it fair to name just one race that they are the richest? What’s the wealth of the majority race? Has anyone ever done a research on the richest Malay?

Ketuanan Melayu is an outdated ideology. Race ruling is also an outdate ideology. We have to move forward and give equality to the Rakyat and let democracy run the country. There should not be political parties based on race. There should be one school for all races of the Rakyat. We as a rakyat wants the transparency and democracy which the leaders of Malaysia constantly preaching and selling. We hope and pray one day, all races can rule the country as an equality.
